PURPOSE: The Cycle Counter is responsible for monitoring raw and finished goods inventory and performing cycle counting duties to ensure that all materials are properly verified to be reflective of reported inventory.  Duties also include miscellaneous activities to maintain inventory accuracy through proper processing of material transfers.  Requires strong reliance on accuracy, control, monitoring and coordination in order to confirm inventory & investigate count discrepancies.                                                                                                                                 


  • Cycle count raw materials, purchase parts, and finished goods, and reporting results to Management.
  • Utilize computer system to process cycle counts in accordance with Procedure.
  • Open cartons, bundles, and other containers to count items and/or weigh materials to determine quantity on hand.
  • Maintaining of proper product identification tags, weights, and/or piece counts.
  • Ensure materials are in proper locations and move if necessary using a fork lift.  Conducts searches in order to locate misclassified inventory.
  • Report discrepancies of over/under amounts greater than 5%, and any damaged products to supervision update and distribute weekly inventory count reports.
  • Communicate and develop process enhancements as needed (performs root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and recommends process improvements to eliminate them).
  • Updating the computer system with material locations / movements.
  • Responsible for maintaining organization and structure within both the raw material and finished goods storage areas.
  • Maintain neat, clean and orderly warehouse appearance.
  • Responsible for preparing empty wire carriers to the appropriate Suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Work with Procurement on scheduling pick-ups.


Secondary Duties:

  • Packing of parts for shipments
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and material handling duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Assist in transfers of material to and from production area using a fork lift.
  • Scrub and sweep floors on routine basis.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or their designee.
